Published load data
Muzzle velocities are the manufacturer’s published figures, measured in their test barrel. Your rifle will differ — a shorter barrel typically loses roughly 5–15 m/s per centimetre. Chronograph your own load before trusting a long-range solution.
What it is
Hornady designed the 6.5 Creedmoor in 2007 around long match bullets in a short action. Ballistically it is practically a twin of the 6.5×55 — the same bullet selection in a slightly more compact package with modern chamber dimensions. Its precision-shooting popularity carried it onto the hunting shelf too.
Use in Finland
For hunting, the same observations apply as to the 6.5×55: the heavy 10.1 g loads meet the moose-class 10 g / 2000 J path, and Hornady’s ELD-X carries energy exceptionally far on its high BC. Per-load checks are on the hunting page.
